San Diego is a beautiful city that was founded in 1759 as a Spanish military post. In 1850 it became part of the United States following the Mexican –American War. As the gold rush of 1848 became ever increasing the City was linked to the United States via railroad. In 1886 San Diego was reincorporated as a city. In 1795 Chula Vista became a city that was part of a Spanish town called Kings Ranch. In 1850 after the Mexican American War it became private property along with the rest of the state of California . Chula Vista was not really considered a place to live until 1887 when many lots were sold to
private parties. Now its a thriving city, the second largest in the San Diego area.
Currently Chula Vista is a city which continues to expand. There are many housing developments in the works. Such as Eastlake and Otay Ranch neighborhoods. There are 200,000 residents that currently reside in Chula Vista. New schools, parks, and neighborhoods are constantly being constructed to keep up with all of the new people who reside here.
